The Sixth Form Colleges Trust is looking for talented, committed and values-driven individuals to join our Board of Trustees.

Created in September 2024 by The Sixth Form College, Colchester and Long Road Sixth Form College, Cambridge, our Trust was founded on a simple belief:

Together we are stronger, more resilient and more creative.

We are passionate about preserving and enhancing outstanding sixth form education for future generations while ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of background.

As our Trust enters its next stage of development, we are seeking independent Trustees who will bring fresh perspectives, strategic thinking and professional expertise to help shape our future.

We're particularly interested in hearing from people with experience in:

• Teaching or education leadership in a Sixth Form, Further Education or post 16 Multi-Academy Trust
• Cyber Security, Digital Transformation, Safeguarding, Artificial Intelligence or Information Technology
• Finance, Accountancy, Audit or Chairing or serving on Audit Committees

We're looking for people who are:

• Positive and forward-thinking
• Passionate about post-16 education
• Supportive but willing to provide constructive challenge
• Strategic thinkers with sound judgement
• Collaborative, inclusive and values-led
• Committed to improving outcomes for young people

You do not need previous trustee experience. If you bring the right skills, commitment and values, we will provide a comprehensive induction and ongoing support.

As a Trustee you will:

• Help shape the strategic direction of a growing Trust.
• Support exceptional education for thousands of young people.
• Influence educational innovation across the Eastern region.
• Work alongside experienced education and governance professionals.
• Gain rewarding board-level governance experience.
