Guy has always been ambitious and despite not following his childhood dream of becoming a racing car driver; his career has been fast and exhilarating. From starting his first business at just 15 selling computer products, to founding Dovetail & Slate which has grown from success to success. Like his hero Nigel Walker, Guy comes without an ego and puts huge emphasis upon valuing and nurturing his team so they can become the very best to deliver incomparable results for clients and candidates.

Ruby is the office matriarch. She is meticulous, innovative, flexible and helpful – we can always count on her to be there to pick up the pieces when we need her. She thrives in a fast paced environment and her immaculate attention to detail is put to good use ensuring that all candidate vetting is carried out thoroughly. As sweet as she is, she holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do (you’ve been warned) which helps her to keep everyone in check; the recruiters, the candidates and clients alike because although she’s never had to use her martial arts skills, no one wants her to either.

Billy Foster

Division Manager

Billy looks after the Trades and Labour recruitment department at Dovetail and Slate, with a background in construction, he provides a rare, unparalleled insight into the briefs provided to us by our clients. He understands the challenges our clients have often faced when carrying out their recruitment internally and why it is so vital to find candidates that are not just skilled, but registered, referenced, reliable and most importantly, ready to work hard. Billy is a hands-on guy and if he doesn’t already have the right candidate on our books for you, then you can bet he’s headhunting talent, ready to source you a talented and disciplined tradesman.

Elliott Redmond

Elliott originally wanted to be a pilot achieving both his private pilot & Gliders License, and although he’s had a change in career route, it’s still been high-flying. Today he gets satisfaction from helping his clients to realize the sky is the limit when it comes to their careers and knowing the contribution he makes towards crafting the next generation. He’s maintained a passion for helping people make positive transformations in their life, starting his career as a personal trainer before making the transition into recruitment.

With 3 years of valuable recruitment & sales experience and countless successes, Kai oversees our technical engineering market within the Education sector. There’s no challenge that is too big of a challenge for Kai, who’s exceptionally skilled in finding the perfect candidate for those hard-to-fill roles that often, clients are tempted to give up on or settle with someone not quite right, merely to fit the role. Where many recruiters will try to persuade their clients to give candidates, they’re not sure on a chance, he’ll persist until finding the perfect match.

Elliot recently returned from travelling and living in Asia for 6 months – but his trip wasn’t soul searching and partying, the experience helped him to gain valuable and transferable skills which has seen him quickly grow and thrive within recruitment. Elliot began his career within engineering giving him a comprehensive understanding of the roles and their needs. He is an effective communicator, as well as being highly creative which makes him particularly skilled in visualising the specific requirements of a role and being able to match this with suitable candidates.

I am Billie. I previously worked in social work but felt my skills were more effective in helping teachers get into work. After travelling overseas to South and Central America I am now settling into recruitment and thrilled to be working for Dovetail and Slate.

After a stint living in sunny Australia, Max decided to swap the daily BBQ’s for Banksy, and returned to Bristol. Upon returning to the U.K, Max worked as a logistics coordinator where he acquired strong analytical and project management skills, along with understanding the importance of managing processes, ensuring they’re robust and efficient for both the company, and clients. He now applies these skills to finding the perfect professional for your educational institute, ensuring a great client and candidate experience. He thrives off the unlimited potential that his job offers and the ultimate satisfaction of finding people the perfect role.

Working as a taxi driver for 20 years helped Kamel to develop flawless communications skills through building rapports with his passengers which he now uses building successful relationships with clients and candidates. He has pristine patience and is a fantastic listener with a unique level of emotional intelligence. He applies sensitivity and understanding to those he works with and can quickly recognize the strengths of candidates and identify how they meet the needs of our clients. A father himself, Kamel is particularly passionate about children’s education and invested in finding the best teaching staff who’ll make a positive difference in the lives of the next generation.

There’s not a person who has met Laurence, that doesn’t like him – and that’s not coming from him, but everyone that knows him personally and professionally. He prioritises delivering results to perfection, ensuring he leaves the client with a staffing solution, and the candidate with a smile. Laurence takes pride in nurturing good relationships with those he works with, understanding their individual needs which has played a pivotal role in him securing a vast number of roles. Laurence has always had a passion for children; growing up he wanted to be a child psychologist, and although his career has taken a different path, the wellbeing of children is still at the core of what he does and he gets fulfillment out of finding them the best teachers.
