Dovetail and Slate have partnered with one of the biggest Prison Education services in the UK to provide Industry Instructors and Academic Tutors across a number of different Prisons in the UK.
The role:
We are currently looking to hire a Functional Skills Tutor, to deliver basic Maths and English courses to learners at a Young Offenders Prison. This position offers a brilliant pension contribution and holidays that can be taken any time of the year.
If you do not have a teaching qualification, that won’t be an issue, our client are willing to fund and support you through a recognized teaching qualification. This role is perfect for somebody who wants to go into teaching.
What you need:
- Teaching and/or Assessing qualifications or willing to work towards
- An NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Maths and English
- Experience in Teaching
- Good classroom management
- A good personality and character will go a long way
- Have an interest in the rehabilitation and resettlement of Offenders
- Non-Judgemental
