People Assistant – Education Sector
Remote/ Homebase Working (with occasional travel to Orpington)
£22,000 – £24,000 (depending on experience)
Full-time | Permanent | 35 hours per week
Temp2Perm – 1 month temp (subject to change)
About the Role:
We are partnering with a leading organisation in the education sector to find a People Assistant to join their growing HR team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an HR professional looking to develop their career, gaining hands-on experience in employee administration, compliance, and recruitment support.
You’ll be the first point of contact for HR queries, supporting employees and managers while ensuring smooth and efficient HR processes. If you’re organised, proactive, and passionate about HR, this could be the perfect role for you!
Key Responsibilities:
HR Administration & Compliance
- Maintain and update employee records in line with GDPR and company policies.
- Support the onboarding process, including pre-employment checks and contract preparation.
- Respond to HR-related queries via the HR inbox in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepare HR documents, including offer letters, contract variations, and reference requests.
Recruitment Support
- Assist with job postings, interview scheduling, and candidate communication.
- Conduct right-to-work checks and other compliance procedures.
Employee Support & Engagement
- Support the administration of staff benefits, including health and safety assessments.
- Assist with performance appraisals and training records.
- Help coordinate employee absence records and return-to-work processes.
HR Systems & Reporting
- Maintain and update HR systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Generate HR reports on absence, recruitment, and employee trends.
- Update HR content on the company intranet.
Leaver & General HR Processes
- Process leaver documentation and coordinate exit procedures.
- Ensure the return of company property and update records accordingly.
- Support various HR projects and initiatives as required.
What We’re Looking For:
✔ CIPD Level 3 qualification or relevant experience in an HR support role
✔ Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
✔ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
✔ Basic knowledge of HR policies and employment law
✔ Strong communication and organisational skills
Desirable:
- Experience using HR software systems (Access)
