Salary: Up to £36,000 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week, year-round
Contract: Permanent
Are you an experienced plumbing and gas professional looking to share your expertise with the next generation? A highly regarded Further Education college in West Suffolk is seeking a dedicated Plumbing and Gas Assessor to join its Construction and Building Services team.
You’ll play a vital role in supporting learners on Plumbing and Gas qualifications (Levels 1-3), delivering workplace assessments and ensuring industry standards are met across both practical and theoretical elements.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and carry out assessments in plumbing and gas, both in college workshops and in learners’ workplaces.

Provide clear, supportive feedback and guidance to help learners achieve their qualifications.

Keep accurate records of learner progress and assessment outcomes in line with awarding body standards.

Contribute to the development and maintenance of assessment materials and internal quality assurance.

Work closely with curriculum and apprenticeship teams to ensure high-quality learner experiences.

Attend learner/employer review meetings and support the tracking of apprentice progress.
About You:

NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing (essential).

Current ACS Gas qualifications and registration (essential).

Assessor qualification (e.g., TAQA, A1, or D32/33), or willingness to work towards.

Teaching qualification (e.g., Level 3 AET) desirable, or willingness to achieve.

Level 2 (GCSE A-C or equivalent) in English and Maths, or willingness to gain these.

Up-to-date industry knowledge, including gas regulations, health and safety, and energy efficiency.

A supportive, learner-focused attitude and strong organisational skills.
