About the Role:
As Assistant Head of Department (Inclusion), you’ll play a key role in leading and coordinating SEND provision across your designated campus. Working closely with the Head of Department and wider leadership team, you’ll ensure personalised, ambitious curriculums are delivered to students with high needs.
Your day-to-day will include:

Supporting and mentoring staff to deliver inclusive, engaging learning environments.

Embedding high standards of equality, diversity and inclusion across all programmes.

Overseeing curriculum planning and the implementation of reasonable adjustments.

Ensuring quality and compliance of learner records, progress tracking, and EHCP outcomes.

Championing best practice in supporting high-needs learners, including through robust internal quality assurance and staff development.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking to speak with experienced SEND professionals who are ready to take the next step in their leadership journey. You’ll ideally bring:

Substantial experience in a post-16 SEND or Supported Learning setting.

Strong pedagogical knowledge and a passion for inclusive education.

Confidence in managing teams and leading with a supportive, relationship-based approach.

Experience with curriculum development, quality assurance, and learner support planning.

A solid grasp of audit requirements and data systems related to the SEND learner journey.
