Role Responsibilities

* Provide high-quality British Sign Language (BSL) interpreting and communication support for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students across a range of courses and learning environments.
* Facilitate clear and accurate communication between students, staff, and external partners.
* Work collaboratively with teaching and support teams to promote inclusion and ensure equal access to learning.
* Support students in developing confidence and independence within their studies and daily college life.
* Maintain professional standards of confidentiality and ethical practice in all interpreting activities.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of accessibility services and inclusive practice within the college.


Essential Requirements

* A minimum of Level 4 qualification in British Sign Language or equivalent or proven experience providing BSL interpreting support within an educational or professional setting.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive learning.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.


Desirable

* Experience supporting students with additional learning needs (SEN).
* Knowledge of assistive technologies and accessibility tools in education.
