Pathways Lecturer – Shape the Future of Entry-Level Learners

Join our dynamic team as a Pathways Lecturer, where you’ll play a crucial role in supporting learners on Entry-Level and Level 1 courses. Pathways programs are designed for young people aged 16-18 who may benefit from a preparatory period and transition year to aid their progression. These programs are particularly suited for learners who may face barriers to education due to their previous experiences and are seeking a supportive environment to build confidence and skills.
This is a unique opportunity for an individual committed to fostering growth and resilience in students with special educational needs (SEN) within an Ofsted-rated GOOD college known for its vibrant and inclusive atmosphere. As a Pathways Lecturer, you will be instrumental in creating engaging lessons and nurturing a positive learning environment that helps students thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver lessons that cater to the needs of students in Pathways programs, helping them overcome learning barriers and prepare for future education or employment
- Complete and comply with all relevant paperwork and documentation
- Follow all statutory and company policies and procedures
- Adhere to Ofsted, QCF, and college regulations, ensuring that student portfolios and records meet awarding body standards
- Actively participate in, and promote, the safeguarding of children, young people, and vulnerable adults
- Practice and promote equal opportunities and diversity within the learning environment and the workplace
- Attend bi-monthly team and standardisation meetings
- Stay up to date with national standards and educational developments
- Pursue further professional qualifications to enhance skills and knowledge
- Maintain a CPD file to ensure occupational competence is current and documented
- Promote college values and adhere to safeguarding policies
- Engage in continuous professional development

Salary Range: £27,000 – £38,000 per annum
Candidate Requirements
To be considered, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- A solid general education, including GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade C or above
- Proven experience working with SEN students
- A recognised Teaching Qualification is required
