Are you a compassionate and experienced educator looking to make a real impact in the lives of children with complex learning needs?
We’re working with a nurturing and inclusive specialist primary setting in Guernsey that delivers a sensory-based curriculum tailored to each child’s unique profile. The school is seeking a dedicated Class Teacher to provide high-quality, engaging learning experiences and play a key role in the holistic development of its pupils.
What you’ll be doing day-to-day:
* Planning and delivering personalised, sensory-based lessons that are engaging and meaningful for pupils with a wide range of Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
* Creating a safe, inclusive and purposeful classroom environment that encourages independence, confidence and personal growth
* Working closely with Learning Support Assistants and therapists to ensure pupils receive consistent and effective support throughout the day
* Using assessment data to monitor progress, adapt planning and report on pupil development
* Collaborating with colleagues, multi-agency professionals, and families to support each child’s learning journey
* Providing care as needed, which may include helping with personal hygiene, emotional regulation, or medical needs
* Attending team meetings, participating in training and contributing to ongoing school development
* Supporting the safeguarding, health and wellbeing of all pupils in line with school and Education Services policies

Essential requirements:
* A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, BEd, QTS)
* Experience teaching primary-aged children with significant ALN
* Strong understanding of inclusive, adaptive teaching strategies
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
* Experience using digital tools for teaching, learning, and assessment
* Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
* Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
* Willingness to complete TEAM TEACH training (if not already qualified)
