Student Support Adviser (Term-time only, permanent)

• Location: Gloucester
• Salary: up to £26k FTE equivalent
• Type: Full-time, Term-time only (37 weeks/52 weeks)
• Reporting to: Student Support Manager

Dovetail and Slate are recruiting on behalf of a leading education provider based in Gloucester.

Role Purpose

• To provide relevant and accurate information and advice to both internal and external customers whilst delivering outstanding levels of customer service on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide a professional and friendly service dealing with face to face, telephone and electronic enquiries.
• Refer to other departments as appropriate such as Safeguarding, academic, admin and Mentors
• Refer customers to other College support services as and when is necessary.
• Assist with the administration of the admission of students to the College student support funds and follow funding rules to make decisions on what support can be offered to students based on circumstances.
• Take responsibility for processes and tasks within the team and providing an efficient service to applicants, students and College staff.
• Be active in promoting and support the variety of external support that students can access
• Work alongside Student Mentors, Employment Coaches, Mental Health team to provide information and advice on what financial support the college can offer students in order to retain and achieve.

Requirements

• Experience of working within a related/customer service environment
• Experience of working to tight deadlines.
• IT experience e.g. Windows
• Minimum GCSE grade C or equivalent Level 2 in English and Maths (or willingness to undertake)
• Ability to work well in a team and provide support to colleagues.
• Willingness to undertake Equality and Diversity and Safeguarding training
• Enhanced with barred status DBS criminal record disclosure or willingness to undertake)
