Salary: £50,048 – £56,337

Exciting opening for an experienced Teacher and SEND lead within a growing Alternative Provision.

Dovetail and Slate are supporting a multi-site unique alternative provision provider based across the South West. We are supporting with multiple roles including: Teacher (and SEND Lead) and 2x Learning Mentors.

The roles are for a new site based in Brislington, environments that require resilient, supportive and compassionate teachers, who are able to reestablish students faith in education.

Salary

  • £40,000-£45,000
  • Subject to experience and demonstratable skills relevant to role

To be successful you will hold/be:

  • Teaching degree or PGCE ideally with QTS
  • Good relevant subject degree
  • Experience teaching at KS3/4
  • At least 1 of the following:
    • ASCN/SLCN Teaching
    • Experience of working with children with challenging behaviour.
    • Experience of working with SEND in either a special or mainstream setting.
  • The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of the difficulties encountered by young individuals, familiarity with the SEN code of practice, and a strong grasp of subject pedagogy. Additionally, they should demonstrate a proven track record of enhancing both progress and attainment.

In this role you will be expected:

  • To plan, resource and teach a range of subjects with an expectation of high standards that maximizes achievement of young people attending
  • To teach mixed age groups, a curriculum which is both stimulating and challenging within a well organised learning environment.
  • Regularly review ILPs and EHCPs and use these to inform planning.
  • Review lessons and pupil work and use this information to inform future planning.
  • To have a strategic overview of provision for pupils entering the provision, assessing their referral paperwork and identifying their SEND need and offer the most suitable package.
  • To monitor the progress of pupils with SEND and support staff to adapt provision to their changing needs to ensure every pupil can fulfil their potential.
